Survey Finds Financial Executives Place High Value on Accreditations July 16, 2001 (SmartPros)(RHI Inc.) Other than ability, experience and hard work, what does it take to be promoted today? According to a new survey of chief financial officers (CFOs), earning a certification can tip the scale in an accounting professional's favor. Eighty-five percent of executives polled said accreditations such as a CPA (certified public accountant) or CMA (certified management accountant) are valuable in career advancement. The survey was developed by Robert Half International Inc. (RHI), a staffing service specializing in the accounting, finance and information technology fields. It was conducted by an independent research firm and includes responses from 1,400 CFOs from a stratified random sample of companies with more than 20 employees.
