The Job Audition Oct. 30, 2000 (SmartPros) Getting your foot in the door and gaining professional experience is key to landing a job after finishing college. In a recent Accountemps survey, 93 percent of chief financial officers said it's important for entry-level accountants to have experience in the field prior to graduation. One way of gaining experience is through an internship. Today's internships are offering better pay and more challenging work than in the past. The best way to find an internship is through your school. Most schools either have an internship coordinator or the resources to point you in the right direction. Take advantage of your university's career center or web site, and ask your professors about providing you with referrals. |
